Man accused of having and distributing child pornography

Being charged with a crime is very different from being convicted. In fact,
without a conviction, you should always be considered innocent, even if
you’re a person of interest in a case. Until a conviction, it’s
not fair to have your reputation harmed by media coverage or other news
about the case. If that’s happening to you, your attorney can help
you defend and protect your good name.

In cases where child pornography is suspected, it’s important to
protect yourself from the start. There could be several reasons for this
to be on a computer, and you may not be the person who downloaded or distributed
it on your system. You have the right to defend yourself against such
charges and your attorney can help you develop what strategy should be
used for your defense.

A man in Maryland has been accused of having child pornography on his computer.
According to the Maryland State Police investigators alongside the Maryland
Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, the man, a 36-year-old, has
been charged with possessing and
distributing child pornography.

The man was previously part of an investigation when the Maryland Internet
Crimes Against Children Task Force received information about child pornography
potentially being distributed locally online. The man is a suspect in
that case, and a search warrant allowed the task force to search his computers
and other digital devices.

The evidence must be submitted to the Maryland State Police Digital Forensics
Lab for analysis before a full investigation and charges can be placed.
The man currently awaits a hearing before the District Court to face allegations
against him.
