‘Austin Powers’ bit actor sentenced to prison for 1990 gang rape

A man who played one of Dr. Evil’s henchmen in 1997’s “Austin
Powers: International Man of Mystery,” has been sentenced to life
in prison without the possibility of parole for his part in a 1990 gang
rape. The man was convicted of a felony count of torture at the end of
August and sentenced to prison on Friday.

The man, now 40, also had a co-defendant, also 40, who was sentenced in
January to 17 years and four months in prison after pleading guilty to
five felonies, including sodomy by force in concert and kidnapping.

The men committed the
violent crimes on Christmas Eve in 1990 after kidnapping a 19-year-old woman while she
was walking her dog. The men drove the woman to another town where they
repeatedly raped her and sodomized her in the back of the car. The men
also continually pistol-whipped the woman and repeatedly told her that
they were going to kill her.

The woman begged for her life and was released. She was naked and badly
injured and walked to a nearby house where police were called. The police
collected DNA samples from the victim, but the case went cold for almost
two decades.

In 2008, the actor was convicted of felony vandalism and later had to give
police a DNA sample after he violated his probation. The DNA sample linked
the man to the sample taken from the woman in 1990 and he was arrested
and charged with the felony torture charge.
